Amscot Financial customers are currently experiencing an increase in fraud schemes known as "phishing". While phishing has typically been associated with unsolicited emails, the new scams are using a combination of phone messages and toll-free numbers in their attempts to steal valuable personal and financial information from unaware consumers.
To help ensure that you do not become a victim of this fraud, please follow the instructions below:
- If you receive a phone call or an email claiming to be from Amscot asking you to log in to a site other than amscotfinancial.com, please do not log in to the site.
- Never respond to unsolicited e-mails containing links, nor to emails asking you to verify account or personal information or email asking you to reactivate a service.
- Never respond to a phone call or voice mail service asking you to verify account information or reactivate an Amscot Prepaid Mastercard®.
Amscot Financial customer service will never verbally ask you to verify your information on the phone using your Amscot Card personal identification number (PIN).
