Amscot Financial Will Accept Bill Payments On Behalf Of Lakeland Electric

Tampa, FL – (June 25, 2006) – Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, today began accepting bill payments on behalf of Lakeland Electric.

Customers of Lakeland Electric can pay their utility bills at any of Amscot’s 158 locations located in 14 counties throughout Central Florida, from St. Petersburg to Daytona Beach. All Amscot locations are open seven days a week, including weekends and holidays with hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Select Amscot locations are open 24 hours a day.

On behalf of Lakeland Electric, Amscot will accept cash or debit card payments. There is a $1 convenience charge per transaction.  Payments made before 3:25 p.m. on business days will be posted on the same day. All payments made on weekends and holidays will be posted to the customer’s account on the next business day. 

Lakeland Electric customers must have their utility statement or remittance slip to allow their payments to be processed.

Amscot accepts bill payments for a wide variety of utilities and service providers from across west and east Central Florida. Among those organizations are TECO, Orlando Utilities Commission, Orange County Utilities, Progress Energy and the Orange County Clerk of the Court’s office.
