Miami, FL – (November 17, 2018) – Amscot Financial partnered with local organizations to distribute Thanksgiving meal baskets, helping feed over 7,000 South Florida residents and families in need this year.

Amscot's donations were assembled over the weekend by volunteers and distributed throughout South Florida in Thanksgiving meal basket events hosted separately by 100 Black Men of South Florida and Turkey Give-Away, Inc.

Hoping to help ease the needs of families for the holiday, both organizations have hosted these events annually; a tradition held for 29 years by 100 Black Men of South Florida, and now 9 years by Turkey Give-Away and their partners.

"Everyone deserves a Thanksgiving meal, but not everybody gets to enjoy one,” says Ian MacKechnie, Amscot’s founder, chairman and CEO. “All of us at Amscot are hoping to change that for more of our neighbors in South Florida, and we remain grateful to these charitable organizations for giving us this opportunity to reach out.”
