Tampa FL –Amscot has matched its previous donation of $5,000 in an effort to benefit the Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Preservation Institute. As before, the scholarships will continue to assist students who attend Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona, Florida, but who also struggle with financial hardships. The scholarships will help provide housing and books.
The organization’s CEO, Dr. Evelyn Bethune, says she is grateful for organizations like Amscot that understand the importance of empowering individuals who are challenged financially but want to pursue education.

Student homelessness is a growing issue with many colleges and universities as more and more cuts are made in financial aid. With the help of organizations and corporate entities like Amscot, we are able to fill some of that void."
