Tampa, FL – Amscot Financial has donated $100,000 to Lowry Park Zoo to help fund the organization’s new 7,000 square foot veterinary hospital. The new facility provides specialized care for more than 1,000 animals at the Zoo and serves as a resource for state and federal wildlife professionals.
The new hospital, located just off the boardwalk of the Florida Wildlife Center, has dedicated areas for surgery, pharmacy, radiology, labs, veterinary offices and holding for animal patients.
“We have the deepest respect for Lowry Park Zoo and the tremendous care with which they provide animals,” said Ian MacKechnie, Amscot’s founder, chairman and CEO. “Lowry Park Zoo is an important educational pillar in the Bay area community and it’s one that we’re proud to help flourish.”
