Amscot Financial contributes mini-grants to 22 non-profit service groups

Tampa, FL – (May 25, 2017) – Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, recently awarded mini-grants of $100 to $3,500 in support of 22 different non-profit service organizations located in the Florida communities where the company serves several million consumers.

Mini-grants went to the following organizations:

  • The ALS Association Florida Chapter, Inc., Tampa. The Chapter fights ALS on all fronts by providing programs for people living with ALS, advocating on behalf of people living with ALS with our government leaders, creating awareness of the disease, and funding research to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure.   • Dress for Success Greater Orlando, Orlando. Women are referred to them by a diverse group of non-profit, member agencies that include homeless and domestic violence shelters, substance abuse recovery facilities and job training programs.   • Life to the Max, Inc. - The Genesis Center, Leesburg.   • Mosaic Dance Project Inc., Miami. Mosaic Dance Project has recently developed a partnership with the Miami affiliate of Autism Speaks. Children with autism will visit Mosaic Dance Project's studio regularly throughout 2017 to receive individual and group dance instruction - a highly recommended activity and useful therapy to help them meaningfully connect with the world around them and the people in it.   • Nature Coast Technical High School Allied Health Program, Spring Hill. The Allied Health Program at NCTHS is designed to help students discover medical/ health related careers post high school.   • Osceola County Sheriff's Office Adventure Camp, Kissimmee. The Adventure Camp is for at-risk youth between the ages of 11-14. It is an overnight camp where the youth learn how to work together in many different aspects from canoeing and playing sports and other games that get them to work together in order to solve the problem.   • Pinellas Education Foundation, Largo. The 32nd Joseph L. Carwise Achievement Awards honors elementary, middle and high school minority students who have demonstrated excellence academically and behaviorally.   • Solid Rock's Church of God, Kissimmee. The Youth Ministry will be sponsoring their 9th Annual Back to School Extravaganza on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
