Melbourne, Fla. – March 21, 2008 - Amscot Financial held an open house on March 21 at Branch No. 174 at 1050 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne. Amscot presented a $500 contribution in support of the Greater Melbourne Police Athletic League.  

The Greater Melbourne Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) is a youth athletic and activities organization.  P.A.L. develops discipline, self-esteem, and positive moral values while encouraging achievement and personal accountability. P.A.L. has been proven to reduce youth crime, violence, alcohol use, and
drug use.

The mission of P.A.L. is to foster a closer relationship between law enforcement officers and the youth of our community, and to promote cooperation between youth and law enforcement officers while building understanding, respect, and trust. Greater Melbourne P.A.L. programs include youth basketball, football, and cheerleading, as well as mentoring in drug awareness education. The organization serves more than 1,000 young people every year.
