AMSCOT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTES TO THE JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION, SUPPORTING UPCOMING
‘WALK FOR A CURE’

 

Kissimmee, Fla., February 9, 2008 - Amscot held an open house on Saturday, February 9 at Branch No. 145 in Kissimmee. Amscot presented a $500 contribution to the Central Florida chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which underwrites efforts to seek a cure for the disease.

 
   

The Walk To Cure Diabetes is the fastest growing fund raising event in the history of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, (JDRF). In 2007, the national JDRF raised nearly $100 million with the Walk, which spans more than 200 chapters throughout the United States and six countries. The Central Florida chapter raised more than $815,000 in 2007 with its two premier walks in Central Florida. The first walk is scheduled for March 1 at the University of Central Florida; the second is scheduled for March 15 at Lori Wilson Park in Brevard County.
