AMSCOT FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTES TO HARBOR HOUSE, PROVIDING WOMEN AND CHILDREN SHELTER AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

AMSCOT ALSO CONTRIBUTES TO ORLANDO SCIENCE CENTER,
A HANDS-ON HUB OF SCIENCE-BASED LEARNING
 

Orlando, Fla., April 21, 2007 - Amscot Financial held an open house on on Saturday, April 21 at its new location at 1072 Lee Road in Orlando. Amscot presented a $500 contribution to Harbor House, a non-profit organization that provides shelter, counseling and support services to women and children suffering from domestic violence.

Amscot also presented a $500 contribution to the Orlando Science Center, a science and technology learning center based near downtown Orlando.

Harbor House was founded in Orange County in 1977. It offers four main programs: Emergency Services; including temporary shelter; Children's Services, including therapeutic counseling; Outreach Services, and Court Advocacy. The agency also works with survivors of domestic violence to prepare them for their reentry into the community, linking them to resources that will enable them to live independently, safely, and violence-free.

The Orlando Science Center (OSC), strives to provide science for everyone by creating opportunities for experiential science learning and by promoting science literacy.
