Zephyrhills, Fla., March 22, 2007 – Amscot Financial held an open house on Saturday, March 24 at its new location at 36640 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills. Amscot presented a $500 contribution to Head Start at West Zephyrhills Elementary School, a school-day program for at-risk pre-school children.

The Head Start program at West Zephyrhills serves children ages three and four who come from low-income families. The program is designed to give the children a foundation of learning skills that will serve them for life. Beginning programs in reading and math skills help prepare these young students for the tasks they will encounter in kindergarten and first grade. Each child is also given a hot meal every day. West Zephyrhills has two classrooms of Head Start students, each with 18 pupils. Amscot Financial’s contribution will help purchase books and other classroom supplies.
